BT v Halesworth Golf Club

On the warm still evening evening of 8th August 2000, twelve members of BTRGS played against a team from Halesworth Golf Club in our first ever fixture at this venue. 

Although a relatively new course, around ten years old, recent years have seen major improvements to the greens and fairways. Drainage work was in progress and there are plans to improve the course further.

The long fairways posed less of a problem than the rough - where many players lost stokes as they tried to machete their way out. Unfortunately, it was BTRGS players that played most of the strokes and we lost by nine holes.

The match concluded with a very nice meal in the dining room on the first floor, overlooking the 18th fairway, where we were invited to return again next year.
