Captain changes rules to make Marginal Win over Vice Captain
Course conditions were good and the weather was fine at Woodbridge GC in a
match were the odds where on the dream team picked by Baard Grindberg. This
should have been enough to gain the traditional win for the vice-captain's side.
This was not to be, as the captain changed the scoring from the traditional
Hambro format to a match by match count. In all fairness to the captain, he
made this change before the matches were played. It led George Courtney's side
to the narrowest of wins - by one match.
Thanks to all the members that took part in what turned out to be a very enjoyable
evening's golf. George was on form as always, although a bit up and down on
the day with three birdies and a matching number of blobs. His partner of the
day, Alan Egan, filled in nicely, giving them a comfortable win in our match.
This popular event was finished off with a nice meal in the clubhouse. Thank
you all for your continued support.
