Marie Hunt Charity Shield, 4/8/2001

As is customary, the BTRGS took part in the Marie Hunt memorial shield, this years event being held at St Audreys Golf Club. The BTRGS team comprised of John Carlaw, Steve Hodgkiss and two willing non-BTRGS volunteers found on the day - "one of whom was building the new St Audreys club house not more than an hour before the off". Despite coming in with a healthy combined score of 65 points, the team were in mid-field come the end of the day. (Scoring format was greensomes stableford, with the two pairs scores, then combined.)

The weather on the day was very pleasant, with the team enjoying both the golf and the company of the representatives of St Clements GC with whom we played.

The event attracted a large number of teams from the area and raised over a thousand pounds for local good causes.
