Match Report
BT v Legal & General, 12th August 2002
The match was played on the 12th August 2002 and was very successful from both
the playing, and the social point of view.
This was the first ever match between L&G and BTRGS. We hope this will
become an annual event, and the trophy has plenty of room to allow for that.
It was the first time we played this course in a society event, and most of
us had not played there at all before. The venue was chosen because of location
(half way between the two societies HQ's) and because of the relatively low
cost.
It turned out to be a good track with no boring holes, i.e. more doglegs than
a normal kennelJ. The rough was very rough on this mostly parkland course. I
have never had so much grass seeds in my shoes before, ever. The weather was
typical English, with sunshine all day long.
I'm proud of how the team performed to back up their captain. The overall score
was a draw. The trophy was handed over to Chris Mutton, the L&G captain
of the day, under the condition that they organised next years meeting.
I thoroghly enjoyed the experience and is looking forward to next years event.
