The match was very successful from the social point of view. Fortunately, our play was just good enough to get our names on the trophy. Some of our players finished with a 100% record of wins, not one managed 100% in the opposite direction, and others had halves.

The repeat of a 36 hole contest was very well received by both sides and we had an mainly dry day in which to play our golf. The opposition were, as usual, a very friendly bunch and, this time, they had every reason to drown their sorrows during another excellent meal provided by the Stowmarket catering staff. The course was in very good condition considering the weather this year and that perhaps helped us to gain a memorable victory. Next year, my partner must be Daryn Dodge as he has never had to carry me in any BT event so far!
