The evening started off with some threatening looking weather and it was fairly windy.
We were lucky to be able to start on the 1st and the 13th tees and play soon got underway at a reasonable pace. Both BT & POFGS teams fielded a lot of different players to our first meeting in 2002 at Ufford Park. POF were keen to claim a victory on their home ground following their defeat at Ufford Park. Despite the wind & the odd shower BT put up a magnificent display of golf and won by 6 holes.
We had a lovely meal in the clubhouse afterwards and everybody is looking forward to the matches next year. The Port of Felixstowe players are keen that we select Ufford Park rather than Woodbridge for the BT "Home" match in future.
We were indeed lucky with the weather; it rained from the minute the last group came in until 7am the next day! The weather forecast was accurate but delayed by several hours.
I would like offer my thanks to the whole team for the sterling performance
made by everybody.
