This years Captain vs. Vice-Captain was held at Woodbridge Golf Club in brilliant
sunshine, fast greens and fairways that always seemed to guide my golf-balls
into one gorse-bush after another.
We had 6 four-balls, and as the teams came in to the clubhouse there was great
excitement over drinks on the terrace as to who would take home the win in this
honourable match. At the end of the day, the Captain's team proved the strongest
with 4 matches won against 2 wins for the Vice-Captain's team. The match was
however very close, in fact so close that if Hambro-scoring had been used then
the Vice-Captain team would have won the match by 2 holes.
After the golf we all enjoyed an excellent meal in the clubhouse.
Thanks to all the members that took part a very enjoyable evening's golf, and
I am now looking forward to next year when I hope that my team will continue
the good tradition of defending the title in this match.
