The Captain/Vice Captain match was again held at Woodbridge golf club on a
very pleasant afternoon. The course, as usual, presented a fair challenge to
the golfers, especially those who were tempted to explore the wide range of
gorse and heather on offer. Six matches were played in the keenly fought game.
The Vice Captain got off to an early lead but some excellent play from the Captain's
team saw the deficit reduced and interest was maintained for the golfers relaxing
on the terrace as the result was decided by the final match, when recent tradition
was maintained by the Captain winning by two shots using Hambro scoring.
The evening was rounded off by an excellent meal in the clubhouse. I'd like
to extend my thanks to all who participated for a very enjoyable match and look
forward to traditions being maintained next year!
