Match Report
Mid summer event, 23/6/2004
This year's Mid-summers event was held at Ufford Park GC on the outskirts of
Woodbridge on Wednesday 23rd June 2004. This was a repeat venue for the event
and 29 members and 2 guests from Halesworth GC participated.
The course proved to be as challenging as ever for everyone - especially due
to the preparations that were in hand for the Revet Challenge Competition which
was to be held on the course over the following days. Cars, Trucks, Hospitality
tents etc. were in abundance all over the course but unfortunately, no-one was
able to get a hole in one on the 10th so as to claim the car that had been provided
for their competition.
The weather was a real challenge this year being very stormy with very strong
winds. Unfortunately, there was enough rain to force most people to wear waterproofs
for the whole of their round. Despite this and the frustration due to not being
able to keep your ball under control, everyone seemed to really enjoy their
game and all had many stories to tell once back in the clubhouse.
Ufford Park was in good condition overall and we were well looked after with
a curry and dessert once back at the clubhouse.
Results were as follows:
