This annual match took place on a delightful spring evening on a course, which is continually improving and getting tougher!
The greens, which take some getting used to, are always fast and it is those golfers with honed chipping and putting skills that succeed against St Audrys.
For the 2004 season the fairways seemed even more 'narrow' than previously
as the first cut rough had been allowed to grow to about ten cms thus making
a drive on the fairway a primary objective!
Again alas, BTRGS, despite some stories of very good golf being played by some
of the pairs, lost by four matches to one with one match being halved, and in
Hambro terms by twelve holes.
Well done to Bob McDermott and his partner Iain Wright who were the only pair that won (by four holes) but thanks also to all members who played.
On a slightly humorous note (although I'm not sure that Dave Wright will agree) Richard Gillman did turn up on time but at the wrong golf course (St Clements). Better luck next time Richard!
After the match all adjourned to the clubhouse for an excellent evening meal.
