This annual match took place on a delightful autumn evening on a lovely little
course.
The greens, which take some getting used to, are always fast and it is those
golfers with honed chipping and putting skills that succeed against St Audrys.
This was a strange year for two reasons, John Hill was not available to captain
the event and we won. We won in three matches and halved another. Due to the
late start and early loss of daylight, we did not play Hambro scoring.
Well done to all players in the team. I would like to thank those who stepped
in with short notice. Also a thank you to David Bell who was ready to step in
on the day in case someone had to drop out.
With reference to last years match report, I am pleased to say that every player
turned up at the right venue.
The St Audrys players asked me to give their best regards to John Hill and
said that he would be welcomed back next year.
After the match all adjourned to the clubhouse for an excellent evening meal.
