BT v Suffolk County Council
Date: Wednesday 14th June 2006 3:28pm Venue: Ufford Park Golf Club, Woodbridge Format: 4BBB Hambro scoring
The weather was warm & dry, there was not too much wind; ideal playing conditions were presented to us. As time progressed the wind dropped & the sun came out.
Everybody arrived in plenty of time which was a great relief to both captains as it is quite a struggle to ensure you get a full team to turn out on the day.
Everybody had a great evening’s golf, and the match was enjoyed by all. The final result was a draw, so Suffolk CC retains the cup. I. said in my speech that is was a great match & that every single hole made a contribution to the end result. There were some amusing incidents in our match, this involved Trevor in covering us all in mud after splashing out from a lateral water hazard.
As usual there was a lovely meal afterwards of chicken curry followed by apple pie & custard.
My thanks go to all the staff at Ufford Park for looking after us so well.
It was agreed by all that Ufford Park was a great venue & that the match should be held there next year.
