BT v Ufford Park GC

Date: Thursday 28^th Septemeber 2006 14.30 Venue: Ufford Park GC Format: Foursomes Hambro scoring

A brand new challenge for the BTRGS calendar brought them to Ufford Park Golf course to battle against Ufford Park members using the Greensomes format. However due to the threatening rain and poor light conditions this was changed to a foursomes format so as to speed play along before darkness fell.

Ufford Park Golf Course was under preparation for the Europro Tour competition being held there the following week so we were limited to the Yellow tees so as to preserve the preparations for the following week. The course generally was in excellent condition but the speed of the greens was not quite as fast as could be expected due to the preparations for the Europro Tour.

A hard battle was fought in most matches with Ufford Park just having the edge.

Following the match a curry meal was provided in Bar 19 and I would like to pass on everybody’s complements to Ufford Park for the meal.

Overall all agreed the match was most enjoyable and a welcome change to the usual 4BBB format.

Finally I would like to add my personal thanks to Paul Jordan and his team as well as all the BTRGS team members for a successful evening even though our score was not as good as we may have wished.
