BT v St Audrey’s

Date: 30^th May 2007 Venue: St Audrey’s Golf Club Format: 4BBB Match play scoring

Alan Porter took over the captaincy as John Hill was working in London. The weather for this, the 33^rd annual match played against St. Audrey’s started off wet & miserable & it looked like being a damp affair. However the rain stopped, the wind dropped & eventually the sun came out.

Each team provided 12 players and the format was 4BBB match play scoring.

The course, as always, was immaculate; the greens were tricky as usual. The grass had really grown due to the wet weather but the rough was not as long as it had been in previous years.

The result, another victory to St. Audrey’s by four matches to two.

Thanks of course go to Peter King & his team for all the arrangements. We had an excellent meal afterwards. Also thanks to my three Seckford friends (shown in italics) who stood in to make up the numbers to a full dozen, with such a low BTRGS membership level it has become increasingly difficult to field a team of 12 players, perhaps 8 should be the norm.
