For a change, this match started on time, with a full complement of players at exactly 4:30 p.m.

• Course Conditions

The course, as with all courses in the region, has seen almost no rain and as a precaution against prolonged drought, all the grass on the fairways and greens were not cut as short as would be normal for this time of year. This meant that the greens were slower than normal and many putts came up short (well that is my excuse anyway!)

• Weather Conditions

The weather was perfect for playing golf, although many players were hedging their bets with umbrellas and rain gear as the BBC website forecast rain (wrong again). So it was very warm and sunny and we all finished our rounds before it became too dark to play.

• Summary of the day's golf and result.

For the past few years, the Cup has been held by each team for 2 years before the other teams wins it for its 2 years. Therefore as St Clements have won it for the past 2 years, past form dictates that BTRGS would win it this year and next year. Sadly this did not happen as shown by the results!
